A visit by train to an underground cathedral carved out of salt in Colombia is one of the highlights of 10 new trips added to the 2014/15 programme from Families Worldwide, which specialises in holidays for adventurous parents and kids.
The salt cathedral visit is part of a 12 day Journey to Colombia itinerary, departing 9 August, which also includes fishing with locals in Cartagena, floating down a river on a bamboo raft and trying Colombian cookery. The trip costs from £2,949 per child (10+) and £3,099 per adult.
Mark Wright, founder of Families Worldwide, said: “Following my first trip to Colombia – which totally blew me away – I just had to come up with a family-friendly itinerary to showcase the incredibly diverse range of scenery, wildlife, activities and colonial towns that the country has to offer.
The company has also added a river adventure in Croatia, including kayaking through Mreznica Canyon, an eight-day active Pyrenees trip, including zip-lining and downhill mountain biking, a Dolphins & Dunes adventure dolphin watching and stargazing in Oman and canoeing through the Pantanal rainforest on an 11-day Brazil in a Nutshell itinerary.
